Plan your day

  1. Write the things on your mind in the Inbox.
  2. Make a short list of the items that must happen today.
  3. Ask Charlie:
Help me choose the three most important actions from this list. Explain any dependency I should handle first. Do not change the note yet.
  4. Review the priorities and keep the ones you agree with.
  5. Turn the chosen actions into a to-do list.

Prepare a project update

  1. Open the page where you have been collecting project notes.
  2. Choose Ask Char.
  3. Ask:
Draft a team update from this page. Use three sections: finished, blocked, and next. Mark missing information as a question instead of guessing.
  4. Check every claim against your notes.
  5. Copy the approved draft to the place where your team communicates, or give an explicit instruction to the appropriate connected app.

End the week with a useful record

  1. Gather the pages and notes that describe the week’s work.
  2. Ask Charlie to summarize decisions, unfinished work, and questions.
  3. Correct anything that is incomplete or out of date.
  4. Keep the final summary in a clearly titled page, such as “Weekly review — September 18.”
  5. Use it as the starting context for next week’s plan.
You can do all three workflows with your own writing. Add connected apps when you want to bring in information from another service.
